Fruit of the Spirit Basket Craft for Kids

Fruit of the Spirit Crafts is one of the most enjoyable themes to use in Sunday School, VBS, and homeschooling. Why? Their easy to use visuals and many spiritual fruit craft ideas is a valuable hands-on experience. It gives your child an amazing opportunity using creativity while, most importantly, learning how they can get their own Fruits of the Spirit.

What are the Fruits of the Spirit?

The Fruit of the Holy Spirit is a term from the bible that reveals nine spiritual attributes in the Bible book of Galatians. Here are the 9 Fruits of the Spirit:

  • Joy
  • Peace
  • Patience
  • Kindness
  • Goodness
  • Faithfulness
  • Gentleness

Fruit of the Spirit Weaving Craft

Fruit of the Spirit Craft Materials

  • Fruit of the Spirit Template
  • Cardstock; brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and white
  • Markers
  • Glue stick
  • Scissors
  • Paper cutter (optional)
  • Stapler

Fruits of the Spirit Crafts Instructions

  1. First, print out the fruit and quote template pages on the white cardstock.

2. Color the fruits and cut them out. Cut the Bible Verses as well.

3. Now match each fruit up with its corresponding verse. Glue the quote to the back of each fruit.

4. Next, grab the colored cardstock. To do a rainbow weave pattern, cut two strips about ½” wide of each color: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and brown. A paper cutter makes it quick but isn’t necessary.

5. Then print the final template page with the weaving template, directly onto the brown cardstock.

6. Now fold the cardstock in half and cut on the dashed lines. Unfold.

7. Next, weave the colored strips through the brown paper slits.

8. Glue the ends of each colored strip down.

9. Then fold the whole weaved paper in half and staple the two-side ends creating a pocket.

10. Now grab the two brown strips and glue them together to create one long strip.

11. Grab the final Fruit of the Spirit quote and glue it to the center of the handle.

12. Next, tuck each end of the handle into the pocket of the weaved paper and staple in place.

13. Finally, place your fruits inside the pocket and the craft is complete!
